Air grader/Air Sifter (also known as wind sifter or air separator) is an essential core sorting device in the particle board production line, specially designed for precise classification and impurity removal of dried wood flakes after mechanical screening. Working Principle
The air sifter operates by utilizing the difference in suspension speed of wood flakes with varying thicknesses, densities and shapes in a stable airflow. After entering the zigzag sorting chamber, mixed wood materials are fully fluidized and stratified by adjustable high-speed airflow. Light, standard qualified fine and medium wood flakes are carried forward by the airflow and sent to the next gluing and forming process. Meanwhile, overweight impurities such as sand, stones, metal debris, as well as oversized, ultra-thick unqualified wood flakes sink and are discharged separately by gravity. This pure airflow physical sorting method realizes accurate light-heavy material separation without damaging the wood flake structure.
