Oriented strand board (OSB), also known as flakeboard, is a type of engineered lumber similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations. OSB may have a rough and variegated surface with the individual strips of around 2.5 cm × 15 cm (1.0 by 5.9 inches), lying unevenly across each other and comes in a variety of types and thicknesses.

 

OSB(Oriented strand board)production line, working flow: wood debarker→flaker→chip silo storage→chip drying→screen→glue dosing and spreader→forming→prepress→hot press→cooling→cutting→storage

 

OSB now is widely used in the fields of furniture manufacturing, building decoration, packaging and so on.

 

Since the long, slender strands in OSB production are aligned crosswise, OSB boards have a higher flexural strength than particleboard. This makes them ideal for use in the construction industry and as packaging material. Take advantage of our efficient, two-stage process for strand production, using both fresh and inexpensive recycling wood for OSB production.

Chip preparation section

Raw material is reduced into qualified chips by the OSB chipper, after the chipper machine ,we can got 40-100mm length ,5-20mm width,0.3-0.7mm thickness chips.

Sifting section

 

After got the chips , through the belt conveyor ,the chips go into the rong screen section ,after the screen we can separate the good quality chips and disqualification chips ,the satisfying chips go into the next processing, and disqualification chips back to chipper again working.

 

Drying section

  The flakes discharged from the wet flake bin are conveyed to the dryer. Qualified core flakes are stored in core flake bin; oversize flakes are send to mill to be re-crushing, and transported to surface flake bin.

 

Glue dosing and spreader section:

The chips after drying section got the ideal moisture , then mix with the glue together depends on our design ratio.

 

Forming section:

The surface and core flakes are sent into chips forming machine, and forming on the mat conveyor length way and width way cross forming uniformly by the orientation plate.

Pre-press section:

After the flakes forming on the mat conveyor uniformly, through the metal remover , to the pre-press machine, to make the first form section.

 

Hot press section:

 

After hot press ,the mats OSB get into the hot press machine , after high pressure and high temperature working ,then we got ideal quality OSB

 

Cooling section:

After hot press, the rough board is conveyed to star-cooler for cooling , cooling machine normally we have circle type and round type ,design depends on customer workshop size.

 

Sizing section :

  The rough board is conveyed to star-cooler for cooling , then the rough board goes through side trimming saw and become a qualified OSB, stacked on the hydraulic lift and go to the finally stage for packing.

 

Control section:

Full line use SIMENS PLC control system , full automatic control system ,save labor and improve working efficiency.

 

Packing: Standard export shipping packages, well protected goods from rust and damage.
